Brake, transmission, exhaust and glass work is often done by specialty shops that see the same job dozens of times a week. Brake shops replace pads and rotors the same day and usually inspect for free; transmission shops rebuild or replace automatics and clutches, a multi-day job that deserves a second quote; muffler and exhaust shops weld custom pipes and replace catalytic converters, which in many states must meet emissions rules. Alignment and suspension shops fix pulling, uneven tire wear and worn shocks, and radiator shops handle overheating and cooling-system leaks. Auto glass shops replace windshields, often at your home or office, and recalibrate the driver-assistance cameras mounted behind the glass. Window tinting and car audio shops round out the group.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 8 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Plano is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Plano is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. I started the online process to have my windshield replaced on Sunday. After entering all of the required information, I received an error message at the end of the process. I tried again on Monday morning, entered everything a second time, and still received no response. I eventually called customer service, and while the representative was very courteous and helpful, it took quite a while to reconcile my account before she was able to schedule an appointment for the Plano location. I also learned that despite advertising mobile service, it is apparently no longer available, which was disappointing. When I arrived for my appointment, I checked in at the front desk and was told that the cost would be $3,000. I explained that this was not the amount I had been quoted during my phone call the previous day. Instead of looking into the issue, the front desk employee was dismissive and rude, simply stating that was what the system showed and that I needed to contact my insurance company. After a 20 minute phone call with both my insurance company and a Safelite Rep, it was determined that the error was on Safelite’s endβ€”not mine. I paid my $100 deductible and was then told the replaceme

Manager was incredibly helpful, kind, and professional throughout the entire windshield repair process. We had a small miscommunication at one point, but he handled it with patience and understanding and made sure everything was resolved smoothly. I really appreciated how thoughtful and respectful he was throughout the experience. My windshield was fixed well, and I would definitely recommend them.

Nader from the Plano location was very professional and very knowledgeable about the whole process and was able to complete it all under an hour. He was explaining everything in great detail and was able to have conversations while he was working, which made me feel like I’m talking to a friend. We had a little hiccup with the location, but we were able to meet up at the correct location and he started right away. He was even able to help me place the windshield stickers in the better location and vacuumed my carpet to the best of his ability. Overall, amazing experience and the glass was able to withstand the harsh weather the next day.

Those darn big trucks on the DFW highways, kicked up a rock or something… and that chip grew into a crack that grew into half the windshield. I called my insurance company and they refer me to Safelite. I obviously heard of Safelite from their commercials. I was able to schedule everything online. I picked my day, time and add on options. I could also select their location or mine. It was super easy and fast. The price kind of blew me away, especially since it was $50 under my deductible. So I cannot answer if the price is fair, low or high. I really had no clue. I opted to have them come to my house and put in the new front windshield. I received a call that morning from the technician confirming and he was here at his schedule time. He was polite, professional, and cleaned up after himself. I was provided a secure link to pay and he was on his way. I even got a text reminder the next day to pull the tape off of the windshield. I hope I never have to use the service again, but if I do, it will for sure be Safelite. I highly recommend.

Safelite is amazing!!! I had Christian service my car. Their website and booking is so smooth and simple! The time frames are reasonable and their ability to come out to you is so convenient. Highly recommend! The cost is as much as if I had paid my deductible for my insurance.
